HOORAY FOR HOLIDAYS!

Its amazing what one week away from work responsibilities will do .
I feel refreshed and eager for Christmas and all that it entails to hurry
up and get here.
The Summer Reading Club will be launched this month with hundreds of children rushing in to join all over Hume Libraries. I'm sure like past years it will be a great success.

Christmas is just around the corner, which means Santa will be visiting the library to see all the Pre-school story time kids, and the mums and bubs from Baby time.
I hope he doesn't scare too many with his HO HO HO.
Did you hear that the Santa's that roam around Westfield shopping centre's have been banned from HO HO HO ING. How ridicules.

The New Year will see Holiday Twilight story time return for the month of January, which is always popular for the working mums and dads.

Just a thanks to Sally for taking over Babytime while I was away.

cheers

ITS THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

315385916_c235d39406_o.png (image)

Check the image above .This is how my head feels, like a planet bouncing around the universe. Learning about the other planets I bump into , Technorati, Flickr, Wiki, Librarything, Delicious, RSS Feeds. So much information ,I'm not sure if this little planet can retain it all.

I have joined so many websites, Big Brother will be able to track me till the day I die. To tell you the truth , I'm not sure if I will visit them a second time.

Sorry I take that back. I love smilebox.com, it lets you make your own slide shows with your photos, and if you know me, you know I love taking photos .

I love that I have a blog . Somewhere I can add my thoughts and deeds. Somewhere I can send my friends to visit. I also like that I can visit my workmates blogs and see whats going on in their life. I didn't realise how funny some of them can be.

So after all is said and done I must say that Learning 2.0 has enriched my life for the better.

BOOK LOVERS WIKI

Visited http://booklovers.pbwiki.com/Princeton%20Public%20Library today and found it to be a great site. Princeton Library started the Wiki for their Summer Reading program for adults. Once you join you can post your own reviews on the Book lovers wiki by sending an e-mail to books@princetonlibrary.org. Then they send you the directions on how to do it and the necessary password needed to add to the wiki.
For each review you submit you received a raffle ticket to win some great prizes .

This would be a great initiative for the Hume Summer Reading Competition.
After joining the program children could review the books they read . Prizes could be given out for the best review or the most reviews submitted.

Something for the future.

LIBRARIES ARE FOREVER

A library is a collection of information, sources, resources, and services: it is organized for use and maintained by a public body, an institution, or a private individual. In the more traditional sense, a library is a collection of books.

The library is a social and emotionally engaging center for life long learning . Library 2.0 is a tool for helping users find information, gather knowledge and create content. With this continuing growing tool of information Libraries will be around forever.

KILLING TECHNOLOGY

Thinking about another project
How the hell are they gonna make it
Anyway nobody's gonna object
Even if they make shit
Now you better get wise
Lasers passing through the sky
For me there's no alternative
This sphere is a bad place to live
Growing technologyFooling technology
Killing technology!!!The star wars have started up
The new invention is coming out
Making a spider web over the atmosphere
To make them sure that we can't get out of here
Computers controlling your functions
Seems like we got electronic alienation
Trading children for a new kind of robot
Waiting for the old people to disappear
Growing technology
Fooling technologyKilling technology!!!
Use the killing technology
How can I destroy the enemy
Security plans are not easy to find
That's my generation, the nonsense time
You lose your function
You're just a substitute
You lose your function
Glad to see you change
You've got automatic moves
Take your pills to have energy
And sit down in your robotic living room
People are gonna progress
Who knows whether we'll get more or less
Some say it's the beginning of the end
Some say they've got our lives in their hands
Growing technology
Fooling technology
Killing technology!!!Look at the chaos, how much does it cost
The circuits gleam
Push this buttom, memory runs
You're gonna pay for this
Ready or not, ready or not !!!
Tomorrow is the fear
The fear will come from the sky, from behind!
Tomorrow disappears
The fear will come from the sky, from behind!
Tomorrow is the fear
The fear will come from the sky, from behind!
We are connected...

PJ Party @ Hume Mobile Library

Today we had 7 kids in their PJ`s. I wore my froggy PJ`s. We sang lots of songs and cut and pasted "a banana in pjamas".

Today @ Craigieburn 27/09/2007

Today we had 16 mums and bubs for Baby time. The weather was horrible and I wasn't expecting so many to come.
The school holidays are upon us and today we had many young visitors. The children's area is in a big mess, with books all over the floor, but it feels good to know we are a popular place to visit.
